1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BrightLog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BrightLog. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. Users under 18 should have parental consent to use the Service.

3. Use of Service

You agree to use BrightLog only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any fraudulent or illegal purpose
  • Misrepresent your volunteer hours, work history, or any other information
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service

4. Subscriptions and Payments

BrightLog offers paid subscription plans. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Prices are listed in US Dollars and are subject to change
  • Subscriptions marked as "one-time" or "lifetime" do not auto-renew
  • Annual subscriptions do not auto-renew unless explicitly stated

5. Refund Policy

All sales are final. Due to the digital nature of our Service, we generally do not offer refunds. Refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. To request a refund, contact us at support@brightlog.app within 7 days of purchase.

6. Affiliate Program

BrightLog offers an affiliate program subject to these terms:

  • Commission: Affiliates earn 25% commission on referred sales
  • Payout Terms: Commissions are paid Net-60 (60 days after sale) with a $50 minimum threshold
  • Payment Method: Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. Affiliates must complete Stripe's identity verification and tax documentation
  • Age Requirement: Affiliates must be 13+. Those under 18 must have a parent/guardian added to their Stripe account
  • Prohibited Activities: Self-referrals, fraudulent referrals, misleading advertising, or spam are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination and forfeiture of commissions
  • Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate affiliate accounts at our sole discretion

7. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (work entries, signatures, uploads). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display this content as necessary to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your content is accurate and does not infringe on third-party rights.

8. Third-Party Services

BrightLog integrates with third-party services including:

  • Stripe: Payment processing and affiliate payouts
  • Google: Authentication (Sign in with Google)
  • PostHog: Analytics and product improvement

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of BrightLog and its licensors.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall BrightLog, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

12. Disclaimer

BrightLog is a tracking and documentation tool. We do not guarantee that using our Service will result in scholarship approval or any specific outcome. Scholarship decisions are made solely by the respective scholarship programs.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
